Getting to and Around Vienna
The conference takes place at the Department of English and American Studies, University of Vienna.
There are many ways to get to Vienna: Vienna International Airport Schwechat is located just outside the city, with the City Airport Train (CAT) taking you to the city center in less than 20 minutes. There are multiple train stations with international connections such as Wien Westbahnhof and Wien Hauptbahnhof, and also an international bus terminal that is located close to a tube station.
Vienna has an excellent and affordable public transport system, with which you can easily reach both conference venues. For the conference, we recommend getting a 48-hour-ticket for approximately 14EUR.
Conference Venues
Day one of the conference (13 June 2025) will take place at Literaturhaus Wien (Seidengasse 13, A-1070 Vienna), in Vienna’s seventh district, which is famous for excellent restaurants, cozy cafés, and beautiful historic architecture.
The nearest public transport stops are:
- Westbahnstraße / Ziegerglasse by tram (line 49)
- Stollgasse by tram (line 5)
- Zieglergasse by metro (U3)
It is also within walking distance from Westbahnhof train station.
The conference venue for day two (14 June 2025) is located close to Vienna’s historic city center, at the campus of the University of Vienna, Austria, in the Department of English and American Studies located in Courtyard (“Hof”) 8. The campus can be entered from various sides; area maps are available in the passageways between courtyards. The closest entrance is at Garnisonsgasse 13, where you can walk through Courtyard 9 and get straight to Courtyard 8.

- Lange Gasse by tram (43, 44, 5, 33)
- Schottentor by tram or metro (U2)
